To play the beer darts drinking game, you'll need a dart board, 3 darts, beer, and 2, 3, or 4 people. The premise of the game is the same as the regular dart game cricket, which will be explained below as well. In Beer Darts, you pass out drinks if you are the first player to close any specific number. Follow the official GroupDrink rules below.

To play this game, you need to know how to play the dart game cricket. If you know how to play cricket, skip this section and read the numbered the rules below. Otherwise, here is how you play:
- Each player gets 3 darts per turn and 1 turn per round.
- The object is to hit the numbers 15 through 20 and Bull’s-eye 3 times each in any order.
- The inner ring counts as three hits and the outer ring counts as 2 hits.
- First player to close out all of the numbers and bull’s-eye wins the game.
Now for the drinking portion of the game:

1. The first player to close 20 can pass out 10 drinks
   
2. The first player to close 19 can pass out 9 drinks
   
3. The first player to close 18 can pass out 8 drinks
   
4. The first player to close 17 can pass out 7 drinks
   
5. The first player to close 16 can pass out 6 drinks
   
6. The first player to close 15 can pass out 5 drinks
   
7. The first player to close Bull’s-eye can pass out 12 drinks
   
8. Anytime a number is closed but it is not the first of that number, GroupDrink!
   
9. Winner gets to shoot first the next round
   

This is a great drinking game to play in the many pubs that have dart boards and chalk boards. To score the game, simply draw a slanted line "/" the first time you hit a number, draw an opposite slanted line "\" to make an X when you hit the second number, and draw a circle around the (X) to signify your third hit and close out the number.
