Summary
The Flip Cup Drinking Game is played like a relay race. The first team to have all of their beer gone and cups flipped wins the game. The losing team takes a shot of tequila, and then you play again. Read the official GroupDrink game rules below:
Rules
Setup to play Flip Cup is as follows:
- Setup a long table and divide into two equal teams
- Fill a cup half way with beer for each person
- Line up in straight lines on each side of the table:

- Follow the rules below:
This game is best to play with about 5 or 6 people on each team. If you want to truly see which team is the best, play down and back instead of just down. Have fun with this game and please play responsibly.

- Follow the rules below:
- The game is a relay race… so no everyone goes at once
- To start the game, sing “Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole” (game starts after the 4th Ole)
- The first player on each team pounds their beer, and then tries to Flip Cup
(Flip Cup = Place cup on edge of table right side up, and try to hit the bottom of it and flip over so that it lands upside down on the table)
- Once player one has done this, player two can go
- The first team to have all of their cups flipped wins the game
- The losing team must take a shot of tequila
