The Lord of the Rings drinking game is a great way to not feel so much like a nerd when you’re watching one of the greatest, but nerdiest, flicks of our time. The Lord of the Rings is an epic high fantasy movie written by J. R. R. Tolkien. The story began as a sequel to Tolkien's earlier fantasy book, The Hobbit, and soon developed into a much larger story. To play the drinking game, simply follow the rules below while watching any of the 3 movies in the series. We recommend one at a time since the movies are all quite long.

Setup to play the game is as follows: (1) Get your drinks ready. (2) Start the Lord of Rings Movie. (3) Follow these rules:

1. Take 1 drink each time Sam says “Frodo”
   
2. Take 1 drink each time Frodo says, “Sam”
   
3. Take 1 drink each time Gimli makes a joke
   
4. Take 1 drink each time Legolas shoots his bow
   
5. Take 1 drink each time each time the ring is shown or talked about
   
6. Anytime the movie needs to be pause for a bathroom break, drink 4
   

Keep in mind that there are 3 movies on the series, and each one is more than 3 hours! If you want to get totally smashed, plan on drinking all day and watching all 3 in a row while following these GroupDrink game rules. Please drink responsibly.
