Summary
The Smoke or Fire, Higher Lower Drinking game is a card game designed to make players guess what type of card is going to come up next. Guess three in a row and you are safe. Guess wrong and you are drinking the amount of cards in the turn pile. Read the official rules below.
Rules
The Drinking Game of Smoke or Fire, Higher lower is a card game played with 3 or more people. To play the game, pick one person to start as the dealer, and move in a clockwise rotation. Follow these rules to play the game:
We’re going to give you an example of how to play in case the rules above are too confusing. Here Goes….. Dealer turns the first card over and it is a 4 of clubs. I am going to guess higher, since I think the next card will be higher. The next card is a 10 of diamonds. So I am correct and do not have to drink. I guess that the next card will be smoke, and it is a 9 of spades… so I am correct again and do not have to drink. I guess higher for the next card and it is a jack of hearts, which means that I am again correct. At this point I can decide to pass, or play a few more rounds to build up the turn pile. Since the card is higher, I might choose lower and get a 5 of hearts. I pass, and the next player now has 5 turn cards in the pile. They must get three in a row correct or they drink the entire pile. Once a player gets one wrong and drinks the pile, the game start over with the same person until they get three in a row correct and pass.
It is a very fun game and has the ability to get your messed up quickly. Please drink responsibly.
- The dealer deals one card face up in the turn pile
- Player 1 has to guess what the next card is going to be:
- Smoke (Black)
- Fire (Red)
- Higher (higher than the previous turn card)
- Lower (lower than the previous turn card)
- Every player must guess three in a row before they can pass to the next player
- If any player guesses wrong, they must drink the number of cards in the turn pile
- Once someone drinks the turn pile, the dealer clears those away.
- If a player gets 3 in a row and passes, the turn pile stays in place for the next player
- Game play continues until you decide to stop
